AC Superblower

The Superblower was a re-creation of what Carroll Shelby had done in the early 1960s, only this time it had more bite. Like its predecessors, the Superblower was hand-built and even used a similar chassis with twin round tubes running the length of the car and smaller tubes between. Unequal-length wishbones front and rear made the handling good, and at each corner were huge discs. But most people were interested in the 'go' of the Superblower and the power was exceptional. Like the Cobras of the past, the car used a Mustang V8, this time the 5.0L from the 1987-1995 models, but with a Ford SVT (Special Vehicle Team) centrifugal blower lo boost power up from the standard engine's 225bhp (167kW) and 300lb ft (406Nm) torque. The body was still hand-fabricated by craftsmen in aluminium alloy, while inside there was a modern interpretation of the original multi-dial dash.
