One of the best-looking cars of the decade, the Olds Holiday Hardtop Coupe had very clean lines and the popular panoramic windshield which was duplicated at the rear. The 88 model sold close to 400,000 models during 1956 and this has ensured the car's longevity and use even today, albeit often in modified form. The owner of this example has rightly chosen to avoid spoiling the car's original lines, but has made significant changes elsewhere. Modifications such as lowered and uprated suspension help to lower the center of gravity and improve the handling dramatically, and all is not standard in the drive train either. The owner has swapped in a Rocket J-2 engine with its triple carb set-up, which provides the sort of performance you'd expect more from a modern V8 sedan. The color is straight from a 1990's Ford Thunderbird and finishes the overall look perfectly.
