While the Range Rover was good, it wasn't quick, for all its V8 thirst. The Rover engine, while being lightweight, just didn't have the torque needed. Under the name Schuler, Overfinch created its first modified Range Rover as early as 1975, but it wasn't until 1982 that production proper began, with the 570T being Overfinch's first Chevy-powered vehicle. As time went by and technology increased, Overfinch added injection on the 570TPi model using Chevrolet's Tuned Port Injection, then produced a very special limited edition 20th Anniversary model with a 380bhp (283 kW) 400ci (6.5-liter) GM V8. In 1998 came the car shown, the 570 HSE, with firmer air suspension, seven seats (the stock had five), a quicker steering ratio, and Bentley turbo tyres. While it has all the extra power, the Overfinch remarkably can achieve the same fuel economy as the stock Range Rover.
